AQUA FRESHWATER AQUARIUM is an untraditional attraction in Silkeborg, which opened in May 1993. Here you can see the rare freshwater otter - together with birds, fish, newts, frogs, insects and plenty of aquatic plants from lakes, streams and ponds. AQUA is built in a different way than other aquaria. The round building is lowered into a large lake. Therefore the visitors are right in the middle of where things happen, and through the large aquarium windows you can experience the exciting life in the lake.
