Thorning Kirke
Open all year round from dawn to dusk. The church consists of a chancel and nave in Romanesque period style with a tower, which was added in 1743 and a westward facing expansion. On the north wall is a late gothic alabaster relief from Nottingham in England with the motif of the Pietà. This relief was taken from the original altar from 1700, which was replaced by the current one in 1903. The crypt under the nave is the resting place of the Sandberg family and dean M. Windfeldt, who died in 1773. The grave of Mads Doss and that of cuirassier Claus Vattrup, known from Blicher´s story "Messing Jens", can be seen in the graveyard. A new organ was installed in 1981, which involved a small alteration to the original seating pattern.
