Museum Silkeborg, Blicheregnen

Museum Silkeborg, Blicheregnen is housed in the old farm wings of the rectory in Thorning, just opposite the church where Steen Steensen Blicher was minister from 1819–1825. Regional and cultural history museum with close ties to Steen Steensen Blicher. Large collection of stuffed birds and animals. The museum is housed in the former rectory. It was here that Blicher wrote his masterpiece “En landsbydegns Dagbog” (Diary of a parish clerk). The museum has a school service department in “Thueninghus”, around 1 km from the main department. The museum also opens by appointment. Blicheregnens museum is one of the stop-offs on the Schnapps Route – see also www.snapseruten.dk.
