Old-fashioned Christmas market at Rosendal
Visit the old-fashioned Christmas market on the farm Rosendal in Northern Sealand, and experience Christmas as in the old days. Here you can cut down your own Christmas tree and buy decorations and presents.
Rosendal is situated outside Elsinore (Helsingør), just 45 minutes north of Copenhagen. The farm dates back to 1826 and creates the perfect setting for a big, traditional Christmas market where you can buy Christmas presents, decorations and delicious foods.
You can enjoy a hot drink of mulled wine and a traditional Danish Christmas snack while the kids have fun patting the tame pigs, Miss Jensen and Miss. Pedersen, and the many chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and soft rabbits. On the opening day, Father Christmas will stop by at 13:30 with his two reindeer that the kids can pat too.
Cut down your own Christmas tree
At Rosendal, you can buy a common spruce or a nordmann fir Christmas tree in the yard in front of the barn, or you can select just the right tree on the plantation and cut it down yourself.
To Rosendal with the Vintage Train
Make the trip to Rosendal truly special and travel by vintage train to the Christmas market. The train departs from Hellerup, north of Copenhagen, on Saturdays and Sundays in December before Christmas, and has room for your Christmas tree on the way home.
