The Royal Guard at Fredensborg Palace

HRM Queen Margrethe usually resides at Fredensborg Palace during the months of spring and autumn. During this time, a detachment of lifeguards is stationed there, and the changing of the guards with music each day at noon is a festive sight.

In addition to the daily changing of the guard at noon, it is also a splendid sight when the drum corps marches down the town to the palace on Thursdays with pipes and drums. The drum corps arrives in front of the palace at noon and performs a small concert in front of the open main door. Often, members of the royal family residing at the palace come out to thank them for the music.

The Royal Guards will establish a royal guard when His Majesty the King resides in Fredensborg, and there will also be a guard when Her Majesty Queen Margrethe is at Fredensborg.
