Tyrstrup Kirke is located in the southern part of Christiansfeld. It was built in 1862 and 63 by architect LA Winstrup and described as his masterpiece.
The church is a cruciform church with apse, vestry in the southeast and tower in the west and is built of yellow bricks. The building has a high pedestal of ashlars, which comes from the old church, which was located about 100 meters east of the current. The church is large and can accommodate approx. 400 people.
On 10 July 1920 King Christian attended in a devotional in the church, after he, on his white horse, had crossed the previous border.
A relief, made by the artist Gunnar Hansen in memory of this event hangs in the porch.
